Nigel Gilles Yoccoz is a
quantitative ecologist
interested in
populations of small mammals. In 1996 he contacted his eldest brother
(Jean-Christophe Yoccoz) to ask some questions about potential models
for the evolution of certain populations of rodents.
Below you will find some letters exchanged by Gilles and
Jean-Christophe on such models, some notes by Jean-Christophe on the
dynamics of these models (including some strategies to find strange
attractors in them), and also two links to related work by Arlot and
Nieto--Pacifico--Vieitez.
